AAUDE Web Front End on Graduate Education

Because of the extensive work that many AAUDE members have been doing with AAU graduate school staff, we are making select data available to a limited number of graduate school staff.  To receive access, the primary AAUDE representative at your institution must approve access.  Without written approval, use of the warehouse and web front end will not be provided.
Those individuals who are approved for access must review, sign, and abide by confidentiality and reporting guidelines. Any misuse of AAUDE data will result in immediate discontinuation of warehouse privileges, at least for the individual and potentially the institution. Click this link for more information about these restrictions.

What is the AAUDE Web Front End?

The Web Front End (WFE) is an online tool that can be used to retrieve data stored in the AAUDE data warehouse.  Both the data warehouse and WFE are housed at and maintained by MIT.  There are two primary pieces of the web front end: (1) exchange item interfaces (XI for short) and (2) a query library.  At this point, graduate school staff will only have access to the XIs.

The EXCHANGE ITEM INTERFACES (XIs) are dashboard-style reporting tools that walk users through the process of building a pivot table report or a data table without requiring users to understand the query tool or know much about the data.  The list of XIs currently available is shown further down on this page.

There are two versions of each XI available.

Data Model and Query Brio - AAUDE Faculty Profile by CIP (html).bqy(3)[v3]. File size is 126683 bytes.  The BQY version provides more functionality, but it requires a plug-in be installed (one time) on your machine.  (BQY is short for Brio QuerY, the original name of the tool used to build the WFE.)

Brio (TC) - AAUDE Faculty Profile by CIP (html).bqy(3)[v3]. File size is 126683 bytes.  The HTML version, also known as the thin client, does not require a plug-in, but also does not have as much functionality. (HTML stands for hypertext mark-up language, the standard web-page language.)

Additional information about the WFE and its use is available from the information guides or from the training manual (currently in development).

Exchange Item Interfaces (XIs)

The topics currently available with an XI are as follows. Clicking one of these links will bring you to the WFE@MIT Login page. Once you've logged in with your warehouse username/password, the XI you selected will appear.  You should then login with your warehouse username/password again.  This double-login is a function of the current security settings; we are working on streamlining this process.
